Who's Who

What I would like to see here is some information about SLO members and other members of the MTM2 community so that we can get to know one another better. I know we have team member profiles on the Team SLO and other team sites but I have in mind a little different approach. I would like to know who you are (for real), where do you live, something about your family, your work, interests etc. A photo would be great if you can provide one. Send your information via to PaPa.

I guess I should start this thing, not out of vanity but only to give you an idea of what I have in mind.

This is SLO_Papa, John Wills and his wife Vickie. Okay, so the photo’s a couple years old. It’s the one and only portrait we’ve ever had taken. I don’t know why, we just never got around to it.

We have been married since February 14th, 1976. Vickie said she’d put up with no excuse for my forgetting our anniversary. This is the 2nd marriage for both of us. Finally got it right.

We’re basically homebodies. Most of our activities are centered around family, friends and church. I guess by most standards we’re pretty dull but it seems to work for us. We have great children and grandchildren and are thankful for that.

Vickie has worked over 25 years as a lab technician in a large chemical plant. I am currently unemployed but stay busy for someone who doesn’t “work.” I have worked as warehouse manager, purchasing agent, and those types of jobs, which I didn’t particularly care for and wasn’t suited to do. I had my own desktop publishing company which I really enjoyed but never made much money at. I was doing typesetting and layout for a printing company until a couple years ago when the economy got tight.

I really enjoy writing, photography, working with computers and teaching people to use them. I suppose the reason I find this medium so enjoyable is that I can use all the things I really enjoy doing.

You can learn a little more about me by visiting my Webshots albums here and here and another website I maintain here.

I am the second eldest of 12 siblings. My family is scattered around the country. I am a Pennsylvanian (USA) living in Mobile, AL for the last 28 years. My family thinks I sound Southern and folks here can tell I’m a “damned Yankee” (that’s a Yankee who doesn’t leave.) There are great people here and we have good friends, but I guess you have to be born to this Southern life to truly appreciate it.

All in all I’d have to say that I have a very good life. I have been and continue to be blessed.
God is Good — All the Time!

I'm a 43 years old French Canadian who speaks French and English. I have 2 kids. Kevin, 18, just became a brick layer and Mélissa, 15, is still in school and shows some serious interest in music. I'm a very proud Canadian who has been serving in the military for almost 25 years now. I liked my job so much, if I could go back in time and be 18 again I'd go for another thrilling 25 years. Since I could walk, sports always attracted me. I enjoy hockey, baseball, track & field etc. I started to run at age 12 and by the time I was 17 I ran a marathon in 2 hours 40 minutes. Shortly after joining the military, I started skydiving which became a real passion. Over the years, I've accumulated over 2000 jumps and am looking forward to many more in the future. As my military career is getting to the end, I'm planing to retire sometime around Summer 2005. Not being ready yet to spend my days in a rocking chair, I'm sure I'll find some more interesting things to do.

Back when playing hockey was everything.

I'm on the right getting ready for a military freefall jump.
